Resuming Encounter Recordings in Nexus AI™ Scribe

If you leave a recording without clicking “End Encounter”, (for example, by navigating away or switching screens) Nexus AI™ automatically pauses the session in the background, so you don’t lose your work.

You can resume interrupted encounter recordings, ensuring no clinical documentation is lost due to unexpected interruptions or technical issues.

How to Resume an Interrupted Encounter

When you need to continue a recording that was unexpectedly interrupted:

Step 1: Access Your Encounter History

Navigate to "Encounter History" from the main menu.

We also have a new feature where you can sort your previous encounters by date or patient’s name.

Step 2: Identify Resumable Encounters

Click on the encounter that you wish to continue recording. These would be identified by the “Resume Session” button in the Encounter History. Click on “Resume Session” to continue to record.

Important: Only encounters that have not ended can be resumed. These appear as active sessions in your history.

Important Recording Retention Policy

  • 48-hour retention period: All recordings are automatically deleted 48 hours after the encounter start time.

  • Timer continuity: When you resume an encounter, the 48-hour deletion timer continues from the original start time (it does not reset).

  • Plan accordingly: Ensure you complete and finalize important encounters within this timeframe.
